Medical officer needed urgently

The Medical Officer will be a Key Staff in the Primary Health Care service delivery project of TCF. The Medical Officer shall be overall in-charge for all clinical, technical and medical related activities in the geographical area covered and shall work closely in tandem with and report to the Program Manager who is the Administrative and Management In-charge of the Project. In absence of a Program Manager, the Doctor would report to an official designated by the COO.

Detailed Responsibilities of the Medical Officer are as follows (stated in random order and illustrative but not exhaustive):

1. Constantly Train and build capacities the Health Attendants, CHEWS and other technical staff on relevant technical aspects

2. Monitor and provide technical supervision of the performance of all primary healthcare activities within the area.

3. Treat the patients visiting the Health Centers for common illnesses, dispense medicines and injections, carry out ante-natal check-ups, deliveries and post-natal reviews, support and advice treatments for various medical conditions and refer cases as appropriate to designated referral hospitals/clinics.

4. Help the Program Manager in identifying, indenting, procuring, stocking and recording the medicines, drugs, consumables and equipment required for day-to-day use.

5. To coordinate and operationalize any new primary healthcare or maternal healthcare activities those are introduced from time to time for the benefit of people.

6. Interact and be a link with the local government under various programs for various preventive and curative health services, under the guidance of the Program Manager.

7. Provide overall support to Program Manager of TCF in managing the project/program efficiently and effectively with high quality standards. And at times of need, handle the responsibilities of Program Manager.

8. Represent TCF in all relevant technical forums and meetings as appropriate for the benefit of communities in relation to Primary Healthcare and/or Maternal and Child Care.

9. Travel to the Health Posts within the allocated geographical area on a regular basis for supervision and service delivery purposes.

10. Willingness and adaptability to train / to get trained on various technical aspects and developments.

11. Take up any other relating tasks as and when advised by the Management of TCF.

12. This is a transferable job and the post holder can be re-located to any other place(s), within the operation areas of TCF in Nigeria..
Required Qualifications:

1. MBBS degree with a post qualification experience of 2 years

2. Experience of working with NGO would be an added advantage
