What will you do in our team?
As a Forklift Operator you will be responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities. The Forklift Operator is also responsible for operating and controlling the equipment.
What kind of work will you be doing?
- Load and unload products from trailers using forklift trucks and other material handling equipment.
- Store the products in proper places in warehouse.
- Transport products to and from warehouse and distribution centers.
- Deliver products to various units in safely and timely manner.
- Sort, pack, wrap, tie and label products as per company procedures.
- Weigh products and record weight and other data in product labels.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory.
- Move and load hazardous wastes under direction of supervisor.
- Clean work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood and plastic.
- Follow company standards and legal regulations to ensure safe and positive work atmosphere.
- Maintain forklift equipment by troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, recommending repairs and performing routine pre and post inspections.
- Maintain material handling equipments by recharging, cleaning, oiling, refueling and other necessary actions, and record all information on log sheet.
- Study production schedule to determine material requirements, movements and deliveries.
- Record information regarding movements of supplies, materials and finished products.
- Willing to work in shifts and overtime.
- Maintenance of all forklift related equipment.
How could you help us do this?
- FSLC / High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid certification to operate forklifts per OSHA standards.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- 2+ years' experience operating powered forklifts.
- Knowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset.
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.
- Maintain a clean & safe environment.
- Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
- Very good physical condition.
- Knowledge of warehouse inventory.
- Knowledge of all safety measures to be taken during the forklift operation.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English.
